T Cell Independent Generation of IgAs in Isolated Lymphoid Follicles
This illustration visualizes the process of the generation of IgAs in the isolated lymphoid follicles. Generation of IgAs in isolated lymphoid follicles of the gut is unique in that it does not require the presence of T cells. IgM+ B cells are actived directly by dendritic cells, then undergoes preferencial class switch recombination under the influences of factors released by surrounding cells and differentiates into IgA plasma cells.

PROCESS

Initial sketches were made using graphite, which was then refined in Adobe Photoshop. The sketch was roughly coloured using Adobe Photoshop to determine the colour palette. A complimentary colour palette was chosen to contrast between the intestinal lumen and the lamina propria. The refined colour sketch was used to produce the final vector version within Adobe Illustrator.
